Justification of the jury
The award was given for creating a pavilion form inspired by nature and for drawing attention to the impact of architecture on all human senses.
The work was recognized for the authors' proposed approach to the design of the architectural form. They did not focus only on visual qualities, noting that architecture also works on other human senses - hearing, touch and even smell.
The jury appreciated the idea of using architectural form to enhance the auditory experience, as well as the authors' search for a shape that would correspond to the function assumed in the concept. The jury considered the value of the work to be the creative approach to the form, which is a combination of a pavilion and a sound sculpture. The proposed space may attract users due to its unusual function, but it also remains a pavilion for meetings in various formulas.
The jury noted the lack of thought given to how to ensure accessibility for wheelchair users and the need to adapt the seating to the needs of the elderly.
