Development of the area of the historic stronghold in Santok
Justification of the jury:
The honorable mention was awarded for the restoration and exposure of traces of the early medieval Santok settlement, which is under historic protection. The area of implementation, is very valuable in terms of nature, lying within the boundaries of many surface forms of nature protection. The scope of the project included, in particular: construction of educational paths, construction of boulders and information boards at designated archaeological sites, introduction of small architecture and sculptures of "Witnesses of History". The implementation of the project resulted in the creation of a space for rest and recreation and reflection on the history of the site, as well as a positive impact on tourist traffic in a culturally and naturally valuable area. The Competition Chapter appreciated the idea and actions taken to develop the archaeological monument and expose its value, which contributed to the preservation of the cultural identity of the place with valuable landscape values.
