Jury opinion

The award was given for an outstanding design proposal for the education of a degraded post-industrial site in an intensively
urbanized area of the city. The subject of the work is the Center for Urban Agro-Culture located on the site of a former container terminal near Krakowska Street in Wroclaw.
The project involves the creation of a new urban ecosystem based on growing food by local residents, using it for consumption and processing biological matter in a way that allows its reuse. The complex is also intended to have an educational and social function, serving as a center for the development of agroecology and activities related to the development of a circular economy
closed.

Thus, the project is one of the answers to what to do with degraded, post-industrial tere us in the city centers, so as to multidimensionally enrich their spatial and program offer. It should also be emphasized that, in addition to the social and pro-environmental program, the minimal but finite and adequate means of spatial expression used constitute the unique qualities of the work.
