jury's justification

The work was appreciated for the following components that make up its architecture:

• the right scale for Zachodnia St. and the successful connection with the neighboring building on S. Więckowskiego St,
• highlighting the corner with a dominant feature,
• clear marking of the horizontal differentiation characteristic of Lodz tenements, i.e.: monumental service first floor - middle differentiated storeys - crowning storey of the building,
• the creation of a detail synthetic in relation to historical architecture (the shape of the outbuildings, vertical canneling recalling the pilasters of the tenement houses, sparingly but appropriately used horizontal stripes dividing sections of the facade),
• an apt suggestion of prefabrication, which can be read as "technological contemporaneity" in the service of historical references,
• a graceful and unique combination of references to factory and tenement buildings,
• the apt use of vertical alignment.
