On February 1 this year, during the Forum of Design and Architecture, held as part of the BUDMA 2024 trade fair, the results of the student study-concept architectural competition "Free Bogdanka" were announced.

The subject of the competition was to develop a concept for the development of a fragment of the area of the western green wedge in the area between Lake Rusalka and Solacki Park in Poznan.

The development concept for the area was to enable the creation of an attractive, generally accessible and multifunctional public space, serving recreation for residents and strengthening biodiversity and the valley's retention capacity. The submitted designs were to respond to contemporary environmental problems and foster mitigation of the effects of climate change.

Fifty-eight works were submitted for the competition, which were evaluated by a jury consisting of:

• Marta Szydłowska—director of the Budma fair, representative of MTP,
• arch. Wojciech Krawczuk,
• arch. Jakub Głaz,
• arch. Bartosz Jarosz,
• arch. Bartosz Małecki.

Three First Equivalent Prizes, two Equivalent Distinctions and an Honorable Mention were awarded.

Three First Equivalent Prizes in the amount of PLN 3,000 each were awarded to teams from the Magdalena Abakanowicz University of Arts in Poznań, consisting of:

• Michał Szymański and Piotr Banaszek,
• Aleksandra Bieszka, Aleksandra Mucha, Maria Pielach and Agata Marciniak,
• Emilia Cholewa and Michał Kościuk.

Two equal honorable mentions in the amount of PLN 1,000, were awarded to the teams composed of:

• Aleksandra Chrząstek, Karolina Cieślak, Jakub Lewandowski and Daria Bruszkiewicz (Warsaw University of Life Sciences),
• Zofia Napiontek and Viktoria Bagińska (UAP).

Honorable mention went to Michal Teodorczyk of Warsaw University of Technology.
