descriptionWe present the results of the student competition for the modernization of the Willa Pastel Hotel in Bialystok, which was aimed at students of the Faculty of Architecture at the Bialystok University of Technology. The competition is another of the projects in which students engage outside the traditional framework of education. The Faculty of Architecture at the Bialystok University of Technology regularly organizes competitions in cooperation with investors and institutions in Podlasie, which we report on our portal.
The purpose of the competition was to design an expansion of the existing Willa Pastel hotel building. The competition was contested by fifth-semester architecture students. The students had to adapt the design to the technical, functional, but also location requirements. The works were created under the direction of Jan Kabac and Waldemar Jasiewicz.
The Competition Jury consisted of five people:
- Prof. Aleksander Asanowicz - Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at Bialystok University of Technology;
- Dr. Piotr Trojniel - President of SARP Białystok Branch;
- Marcin Marczak - Chairman of the Podlasie Regional Chamber of Architects;
- Agnieszka Rzosińska - Director of the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture at the Municipal Office in Białystok;
- Janusz Kazberuk - Investor.
Three prizes were awarded in the competition.
