description

We have met the winners and runners-up of the "Good Space" student architectural competition organized by Dom Development Wrocław.

The task of the participants was to create a design for a square with a playground function and a recreation area within the park greenery by the Opatowicki weir in Biskupin, where the developer is developing the intimate Biskupin Villas.

The public accessibility of the square had to be taken into account, and the concept should provide for the creation of a friendly and attractive space for its users. It also had to take into account functional considerations, such as versatility in daily use and resistance to "wear and tear" over time - both aesthetic and material.

The competition was held under the Honorary Patronage of the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, the Faculty of Spatial Management and Landscape Architecture of Wrocław University of Life Sciences and the Faculty of Architecture of Wrocław University of Technology.

The competition received 18 projects from Wroclaw universities, among which the jury composed of:

  • Prof. Barbara Gronostajska (dean of the Faculty of Architecture of Wrocław University of Technology)
  • Dr. Piotr Kuczkowski (deputy dean of the Faculty of Interior Design, Design and Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw)
  • Monika Ziemiańska, Ph.D. (Head of the Department of Landscape Architecture, Laboratory of Ecological Engineering and the Department of Landscape Engineering and Protection at the Wrocław University of Life Sciences)
  • Arkadiusz Chamielec (co-owner of Chamielec Architekci studio and Chief Designer of the Wille Biskupin investment)
  • Piotr Więckowski (Dom Development Wrocław)

selected the male and female winners. The Grand Prize and PLN 10,000 went to a student of architecture at the Wrocław University of Technology, Paweł Mordeja.
