Results of the 18th edition of the competition for the best developed public space in Poland in 2024

descriptionThe 18th edition of the Society of Polish Urban Planners' competition for the best developed public space in Poland in 2024 has been resolved. Its goal is to shape the modern image of the country by promoting the best urban planning and architectural projects, maintained at a high level of quality and referring to current global standards in this field.
The jury of the competition, which included the TUP General Board, the TUP College and invited representatives of the General Board of the Association of Polish Architects, the National Council of the Chamber of Architects, the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning, the Association of Friends of Integration, the Association of Polish Cities, government administration, sponsors and the professional press and the media, awarded a total of 10 prizes and 4 honorable mentions.
In the category of Revitalized Urban Public Space, 1st Prize went to Freedom Square in Łódź (proj.: A2P2 architecture & planning, mamArchitekci), 2nd Prize to Nowy Targ Square in Wrocław (proj.: RRA Roman Rutkowski Architekci), and 3rd Prize to Garnizon - New Definition of the City in Gdańsk (proj.: Marcin Woyciechowski, Maja Dynak).
In the category of Waterside Public Space, 1st Prize went to the Maciej Kilarski Boulevard in Malbork (proj.: Hydroterm - Design and Investment Office), while 2nd Prize was awarded to the municipal beach on Lake Niskie Brodno (proj.: Przemysław Maciej Kwiatkowski Pracownia Architektoniczna PLAN).
In the category of Revitalized Public Space of a Historic Monument, 1st Prize was awarded to a part of the historic park establishment in Pokój (proj.: Park M, Jarosław Biedroń and team), 2nd Prize was given to the revitalization of Kasztelańska Island in Krobi - genius loci (proj.: Pracowania Architektury Krajobrazu Głowacz, Vitaro, team under the direction of. Joanna Zielińska, Zeneris Water Power Plants, M3 Kaczmarek Design Bureau).
The award in the Public Space of Transportation category went to the Lublin Railway Station - Integrated Transportation Center for the Lublin Functional Area (proj.: Tremend).
In the Newly Created Public Space in Greenery category, 1st Prize went to the "Storm" Action Park along with the Warsaw Uprising Mound in Warsaw (proj. : Archigrest, topoScape), 2nd Prize went to theForest Park in Oksywie - a tract connecting two parts of the Oksywie district in Gdynia (proj.: Pracownia Projektowa Kaja Pobereżny), while honorable mentions went to Popo Park - connecting the Western Park with the new Port Popowice housing development in Wroclaw (proj.: Leaf Projekt Studio Kamila Rogaczewska) and the brine graduation tower in Park Cegielnia in Żory (proj.: MODULOR Architekci Mariusz Mrozek).
Honorable mentions in the Revitalized Public Space in Greenery category went to Dolinka Park in Elblag (design: LS-Projekt Pracowania Architektury Krajobrazu) and Lieutenant Pilot Jan Fusiński Park - a biodiversity park in Sosnowiec (design: Lenst).
