The Wadowice Cultural Center, in cooperation with the Cracow branch of the Association of Polish Architects, has announced a competition to develop a concept for the expansion and reconstruction of the existing facility located in the central part of Wadowice, at the intersection of Teatralna and Henryk Sienkiewicza streets.

purpose

The purpose of the competition is to obtain the best solution for the expansion and reconstruction of the Wadowice Cultural Center. As we read in the regulations, the task set for the participants is to develop a suitable object and inscribe it in the character and tissue of Wadowice. The proposed architectural and urban planning solutions should take into account the tradition and rank of the place, its role in the scale of the city and the region, as well as the rank of the designed object and the values it should bring.

terms and conditions

The competition is an implementation competition, limited, one-stage.

The Wadowice Cultural Center aspires to be an important meeting place in the city: residents among themselves and "meetings with art" in its most diverse manifestations. The idea of the competition is therefore to find an attractive formula for a multifunctional center.

The existing WCK building is in a relatively good technical condition, but the calculations and the conclusion of the structural expert's report urge total replacement of the building substance. It is possible, and even advisable, to radically interfere with the existing building substance, with only the facade being preserved.

First Prize - PLN 70,000 gross and an invitation to negotiate a sole-source contract for the performance of a service based on the selected work.
II Prize - 40,000 PLN gross
III Prize - PLN 30,000 gross
two honorable mentions - PLN 10,000 gross each

Deadline for submission of questions for clarification of the content of the competition rules regarding the conditions for admission to the competition: until February 15, 2025
Deadline for submission of applications for admission to the competition: until February 28, 2025, 2:00 pm
Sending notices to participants on admission to the competition and invitations to submit entries: by March 20, 2025
Deadline for submitting inquiries for clarification of the competition regulations regarding the development and submission of competition works: by April 3, 2025
Deadline forsubmission of competition works: until May 28, 2025 at 2:00 pm
Announcement of the results of the competition on the competition website and notification via the Electronic Competition Platform to the competition participants of the results of the competition settlement: by June 21, 2025
