The TerraViva platform has announced another international competition, LIVING RUINS, to design an open-air museum and visitor center in the abandoned village of Kayaköy, Turkey.

purpose

The goal of the competition is to select the most interesting ideas for the revitalization of a historic abandoned site that draw attention to historical, cultural and architectural heritage, while fitting into the surrounding landscape.

terms and conditions

Competition projects are to include the creation of the open-air museum as a public space with plenty of greenery, adapted to people with disabilities, as well as the preservation of the riverbed in its unaltered form. The competition is open to all and conducted in English. There is a fee to participate in the competition. Lower registration fees apply until September 27 (early registration) and October 25 (standard registration), respectively.

  • 1st Prize: 3,000 euros
  • II Prize: 1,000 euros
  • III Prize: 500 euros
  • Four gold awards: 250 euros each
  • Ten honorable mentions:a voucher for participation in another competition
  • Thirty finalists
