The international design competition "RULMENTUL, BRAȘOV," organized by the Romanian Union of Architects (OAR) with the support of the OAR Brașov-Covasna-Harghita Territorial Branch and the Brașov Municipality, has been announced. The "RULMENTUL, BRAȘOV" international design competition organized by the Romanian Union of Architects (OAR) with the support of the OAR Brașov-Covasna-Harghita Territorial Branch and the Brașov City Government has been announced.

purpose

The goal of the competition is to select the best solution for the revitalization of the former Rulmentul industrial site in Brașov. The organizers expect to develop a medium- and long-term urban concept for the entire site, which will take into account future functions and integration with the surroundings. The idea is to create a space of about 11 hectares, including both undeveloped land and the conversion of existing buildings. This space is to become the centerpiece of the project, connecting the new functions with the surrounding area. The project should also include the revitalization of buildings of recognized historical value and their transformation into a cultural center.

terms and conditions

The competition task is to create a project that, on the one hand, will restore the historical values of the objects, and, on the other hand, create new spaces that are useful for the residents of Brașov. Projects should take into account the integration of greenery and public spaces, as well as the adaptation of existing buildings to new cultural functions. The competition is one-stage and open to all countries of the European Union and the European Economic Area.
