A home is a space of personal and emotional significance that evolves with us. Today's homes no longer serve only as shelter, but are becoming multifunctional spaces, adapting to our various needs - from work and recreation to the comfort of everyday life. Today's homes must therefore be more flexible and adaptable to changing lifestyles.

The goal of the Tiny House 2024international design challenge is to create innovative and functional small house concepts. "Tiny House" should comfortably accommodate two people, taking into account the principles of sustainability and adaptability. The competition proves that small living spaces can effectively respond to modern needs while offering unique and creative solutions.

terms and conditions

The proposed small house should not exceed 300 square feet and should be designed to comfortably accommodate two people. A key aspect of the design is mobility. The house does not have to be portable in the traditional sense. It can be designed as a unit or set of units that can be easily towed or transported by car or pickup truck. Participants also have the option of choosing a permanent location for the project, but in that case they must provide a justification for their decision.

The project should include:

  • a living area
  • toilet
  • a sleeping area for two people
  • a place to work
  • space for cooking and eating
  • recreational spaces
  • other functions as indicated by the participant/participant

The competition is open to all and conducted in English. Registration fees apply, starting at $82.6 per team.

prizes

The prize pool for the competition is $20,000. The prizes are divided into:

  • 1st Prize: $2,000 + certificate + publication
  • II Prize: $1,200 + certificate + publication
  • III Prize: $800 + certificate + publication
  • Student Prize: $500 + certificate + publication
  • Ten honorable mentions: certificates

calendar

  • advance registration deadline: October 18, 2024
  • later registration deadline: December 5, 2024
  • final deadline for project submission: December 12, 2024
  • announcement of results: February 28, 2025

jury

The projects will be evaluated by an international jury of architecture and design experts.
