The 12th edition of the competition for the Stanislaw Witkiewicz Prize for the best contemporary architectural realizations conducive to the protection and shaping of the cultural landscape of Malopolska has been launched. The competition is organized by the Malopolska Province acting in cooperation with the Association of Polish Architects, Krakow Branch.

purpose

The purpose of the competition, as we read in the regulations, is to promote high quality contemporary architecture by awarding designers or teams of designers and investors of the best architectural realizations that are part of the cultural landscape of Malopolska.

The awarded objects should be realized in accordance with the principle of spatial order, shape the space in a way that creates a harmonious whole and take into account in orderly relations all functional, socio-economic, environmental, cultural and compositional-aesthetic conditions and requirements. Objects should also creatively and innovatively refer to the most representative features of regional development.

terms and conditions

The award is given every two years. The competition is open to designers or teams of designers and investors of architectural objects, or complexes of architectural objects, which: are located in the Małopolska voivodeship, are newly designed, have been completed and put into use within two calendar years from the announcement of the competition. The competition does not apply to the renovation and revitalization of objects in which their external form has not been significantly transformed, as well as to the conservation of architectural objects that are being restored to their original condition.

Objects can be submitted in three categories: Public Utility Architecture, Residential Architecture, Public Space.

Detailed conditions for participation in the competition are specified in the regulations.

awards

The designers or teams of designers and investors of the projects awarded in the competition will be awarded commemorative diplomas and statuettes, as well as commemorative plaques to be placed on the awarded object.
