Contrary to what some people believe, carpet has a very positive effect on our health and well-being. A well-maintained carpet absorbs dust particles containing allergens, absorbs toxic substances from the air, including volatile organic compounds. Carpet is also an excellent thermal insulator. It saves from 10% to 20% of heating costs.
The insulating properties of carpets are compared to those of fiberglass and can be up to 10 times higher than any other floor covering. Carpet dampens noise and prevents slipping. A well-chosen carpet is an interior decoration and has a positive effect on our senses.

Ferreira de Sá, a Portuguese manufacturer of carpets and rugs, convinces us of all these benefits. Founded in 1946, Ferreira de Sá is now one of the largest and oldest carpet factories in Europe using hand and machine techniques.

Ferreira de Sá's carpets and rugs are made to order. Each production is tailored to the requirements of the project in terms of the manufacturing technique used, type of fiber, and pile height.
The factory has a design studio to assist in developing patterns, creating layouts for rugs and carpets, drawing installation diagrams. The design can be based on one of the ready-made patterns from Ferreira de Sá's catalog, but any modification can be made, from colors to pattern scale, fiber type and pile height. The specified pattern can be ordered as a carpet.

In terms of manufacturing technique, hand tufted carpets are the most popular in Ferreira de Sá's range. In addition, the factory offers flat weave, hand woven and hand knotted carpets.
Even single-color carpets don't have to be plain at all. Fleece cut at different heights can create a pattern or border. The recent Texture Edition collection is a great example of using mixed pile (sheared and looped) for rich texture and greater rug strength.

The primary fibers used by Ferreira de Sá for its interior carpets and rugs are Botanical Silk (a fiber from eucalyptus wood), Bamboo (a fiber from bamboo), New Zeeland Wool and Fine Wool (sheep's wool of various thicknesses), ECO Nylon (a synthetic fiber extracted from, among other things.Among other things, from ocean garbage). The outdoor collection uses polyolefin, which is resistant to outdoor weather conditions.
In the world, Ferreira de Sá brand rugs are synonymous with luxury and excellent quality. They can be found, among others, on yachts, in hotels and embassies, in residences. In Poland, Ferreira de Sá's realizations can be seen in such hotels as the Grand in Sopot, the Bristol and Europejski in Warsaw and Sparrow Hills in Wroblew.
