System doormats responding to the latest needs of the designer and investor. From the series "Floors, flooring, system doormats - trends 2022"
In today's solutions of modern architecture, doormats are the most important, and at the same time the most difficult to design element of the entrance. Our thirty years of experience allows us to propose system doormats adapted to the latest, most surprising needs of the designer and investor.
System doormats
Our offer includes aluminum doormats for entrances with low, medium and high traffic. We permanently connect the aluminum profiles used with very strong materials, i.e. stainless steel cables of matching diameters and high strength, with matching gaps of 15-30 cm. These are decisive features for the strength and longevity of the system doormats.
Properly selected doormats not only ensure impeccable cleanliness of floors, but also increase safety, as they effectively protect, for example, against slipping on slippery and wet surfaces in the entrance area.

Types of system doormats
The most common and versatile type of system doormats are doormats in aluminum profiles. They are divided into:
- external do ormats - effectively stop some of the dirt carried on shoes by people entering the interior of the building, as well as stop rainwater;
- internal doormats- ensure cleanliness of floors by eliminating grains of sand, thus increasing the safety of people moving inside the building. However, their most important role is to dry shoes.
Depending on the needs and specifics of the building, doormats can be filled with different inserts.
- Rubber insert - is very good for cleaning shoes from larger debris such as snow or mud, mostly used outdoors. It must be rubber, not vinyl (because it abrades during use), properly corrugated, UV-resistant.
- Brush insert - great for cleaning footwear from various dirt, leaving dirt in the cavity of the aluminum mat. We use only the linear brush because it is the main element that causes the collection of dirt, which does not accumulate on the upper surface of the mat. The linear brush is metered to achieve the anti-slip properties of a given entrance. It is always necessary to determine the number of elements to create a mat that will not be a barrier in the aspect of the user.
- Felt insert - it does a great job of wicking away moisture from the soles of shoes and minimizes the risk of slipping. It should be used in the longest possible sections of interior mats, in order to completely dry the shoes.
System wipers can have one or more types of insert, making them even more versatile. Cleaning systems composed of a brush and felt are very popular. This combination makes it possible to obtain a product that cleans shoes on the one hand and dries on the other.
A proper doormat system should consist of at least two zones: exterior and interior, but it is reasonable in some cases to use three cleaning zones.
ZONE 1 is the space outside in front of the entrance to the building, preferably planted directly at the entrance threshold with a 1% slope from the building with the possibility of draining dirty water from under the mat. Rubber and brush lecture is used here in different proportions depending on the size of the pedestrian walkway and the type of user.
ZONE 2 is located in the vestibule, just behind the entrance door, starting at the threshold, where dirt and moisture residues are removed. In this zone, it is best to reuse rubber and felt or felt and brush (in a closed vestibule, without ventilation, the use of felt can cause unpleasant odors, as evaporation of water brought into the building will occur. So be careful not to use felt mats in closed round doors and vestibules or use ventilation or dehumidification systems).
STERFA 3 located in the interior of the building, preferably outside the vestibule. Here should be located doormats with a felt insert (strips of felt, so-called rips, should be high, thick, preferably slightly rounded, so that they absorb the maximum amount of moisture from shoes. It should be known that the absorbed moisture must drain the mat). Designing a long drying line eliminates the additional use of "rubberized carpets".

Facility doormats offer a number of benefits for both the building owner and the occupants. BELA mats are made of the highest quality materials. The special shape of the profiles ensures that they are used for a very long time and guarantees the permanent attachment of the felt strips to the aluminum profiles.
The system mats provide the following benefits:
- they prevent slips and falls by creating a safe entrance;
- ensure cleanliness and aesthetic impression;
- affect the impeccable image of the facility,
- reduce the cost of using the building by eliminating water and waste entering the facility.

BELA aluminum mats are also used for design additions connecting different floor surfaces due to the type of lining, function or floor height in different rooms. They are great for lining on ramp-type ramps. Connecting two surfaces at different levels with BELA matting is a safe and simple solution.

In special situations, when it is not possible to make a deep enough hole in the finished floor surface in front of the entrance, you can use a stainless steel ramp directly bolted to the finished surface. In the case of ceramic tiles, it is best to use small screws installed into the grout between the tiles. Mounted in this way, tightly attached to the ground, the ramp will also be the place where dirt accumulates, and the entrance to the doormat will be safe.

Matting on Wema grating - plane drainage
The use of Wema grating as a structural element giving a "basement" under the external cleaning mat guarantees long accumulation of dirt and snow without the obligation to notoriously clean the entrance. Placing the Wema grating directly on a flat, level, leveled plane ensures the stability of the system and allows the use of Wema grating with supporting flat bars of small cross sections (25×3 mm). A passenger car can drive over the system created in this way without bending any of the elements used. Accumulating rain and slush water will run off without using dips into the drain created in the lower plane.
The use of Wema grating outdoors gives small and medium-sized entrances the opportunity to clean the space under the mat once a year.

Doormats with logo
Logo mats are products made of aluminum and are therefore extremely durable, resistant to abrasion and other mechanical damage, and easy to clean. Thus, the entrance to the company will always look aesthetically pleasing. The company's logo is cut from various types of felt and then precisely mounted on aluminum profiles. Such technical possibilities make personalized BELA doormats will serve in companies throughout Europe.
