Małgorzata Hanzl
Dr. Eng. arch. assistant professor in the Department of Urban Design and Revitalization at the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning of the Technical University of Lodz. She received her master's degree in architecture and urban planning from the Technical University of Lodz with a thesis defended at Ecole d "Architecture de Lyon in France. She received her doctorate in architecture and urban planning from the Technical University of Lodz, and her habilitation degree from the Warsaw University of Technology. She teaches design and urban planning at the Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Technical University of Lodz and at the Faculty of Architecture at the Warsaw University of Technology, majoring in Architecture for the Society of Knowledge. In 2014, under a Fulbright scholarship, she interned as a visiting professor at the SENSEable City Laboratory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research interests include urban morphology and architectural anthropology, planning for sustainability and climate adaptation, contemporary urbanization processes, and strategic and participatory planning. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the journals Urban Morphology (International Society on Urban Form ISUF). She also serves as vice president of ISUF Poland. For the past three years she has served as Director of Publications/Vice President of Publications on the Board of Directors of ISOCARP (International Society of City and Regional Planners), having previously been involved in the organization's Scientific Committee. She has authored and co-authored numerous papers in the field of urban design and planning, and has been active as a consultant and advisor in these fields for many years.
