RE-USE + architects' salaries
Re-use is one of the most popular trends in architecture. It is part of the circular economy and an apt response to the challenges of climate change. Magdalena Milert describes the phenomenon in a broad, trans-local context.
Architects are exploring various possibilities to fit into the re-use trend, as evidenced, for example, by the competition for the expansion of the Museum of Architecture in Wroclaw, decided at the end of 2024. The winning design by the TŁO studio of Michał Sikorski is a kind of re-use manifesto, in which the idea of using spoliation and reusing building materials is strongly present. We take a close look at the second life of buildings.
In this issue we also talk about architects' salaries. Is there a chance for change? We begin a debate that we will continue in future issues of A&B.
