Fiber-cement - naturally for facades

28 of August '24

The combination of cement, cellulose, water, synthetic fibers and air produces a lightweight and durable material: fiber-cement. Users of Swisspearl façade panels pay attention to their functional, aesthetic and environmental qualities. Natural colors and a variety of textures of panels made of this material make it easy to integrate a building with fiber-cement on the facade into its surroundings.

How is fiber-cement made?

Fiber-cement is a material with more than 100 years of history. To make the raw mass, cement, cellulose and reinforcing fibers are mixed with water. The mass is then carefully rolled, pressed, cut, dried and colored, with continuous quality control. This composition of ingredients provides fiber-cement facade panels with exceptional durability and resistance to a variety of weather conditions. The material is non-flammable, which is a great asset in the context of fire safety of buildings.

One of the main advantages of fiber-cement facade panels is their high resistance to external factors such as moisture, UV radiation and temperature fluctuations. As a result, the panels do not deform or fade, even after many years of use in harsh weather conditions.

The smooth surface and appropriate impregnation make these facade panels easy to clean and do not require frequent renewal. This contributes to lower building maintenance costs.

Swisspearl Carat - classic, timeless beauty

The naturally dried color line of Carat panels, thanks to its translucent, lightly pigmented surface, produces an expressive visual effect. The transparent coloring of the fiber-cement panels creates a monolithic and elegant building envelope. The Carat line includes 24 shades, ranging from light to dark and from cool to warm tones. The rich palette makes it possible to create color combinations.

Swisspearl Gravial - a unique structure thanks to linear milling

Gravial is a naturally dried fiber-cement board with a line-milled surface structure and a glass coating. Gravial's linear milling gives, depending on the time of day, angle of light and gaze, an impressive play of light and shadows. The color line includes shades from white to black, soft shades of gray and one shade of brown. The transition from light to dark in a few steps produces the effect of subtle shadows visible on each panel.

Swisspearl Vintago - sanded with a slightly rough surface

Vintago is a naturally dried fiber-cement panel with a sanded and slightly rough surface. By polishing with a rough abrasive grain, the original texture of the fiber cement board's interior is transferred to its surface. The strong texture of the fiber cement panels gives a non-uniform and attractive surface. Vintago's rich color palette, consisting of light and dark shades of gray, brown, white and black, as well as shades of green, blue and red, offers many possibilities for creating homogeneous or heterogeneous color surfaces.

Sustainability

Roof and facade coverings made by Swisspearl are suited to sustainable buildings:

  • They are thin, strong and suitable for lightweight construction with a low carbon footprint.
  • They are noncombustible, moisture-resistant, open to diffusion and resistant to mold and rot.
  • They are resistant to water, wind, snow, drying, sunlight, UV radiation and temperature fluctuations, and are easy to install and disassemble, allowing them to be reused or recycled.
