Green roofs are not only a popular architectural trend, but also an effective answer to many of the problems facing modern cities. Smog, urban heat islands, poor air quality, or overloaded storm sewers are largely the results of the increasing development of green areas in urban centers. ZIDA Sp. z o.o. offers complete solutions for greening ceilings and rainwater retention. The company provides full support in the process of building a green roof from the design through the delivery of complete system solutions based on top products, to advice on execution and servicing. ZIDA provides its customers with professional training courses conducted by lecturers of the Supreme Technical Organization.
Incorporating volcanic substrate in Wroclaw

ZIDA is Poland's first manufacturer of high-quality volcanic roof subst rates based on indigenous raw materials. In addition to a range of standard substrates for green roofs, it also offers special-purpose substrates, including reinforced substrates for green fire roads and for tree plantings in road lanes. It also makes custom substrates, such as for tropical plants, xerothermic plants and growers. ZIDA substrates have a unique ability to absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.
The company's own laboratory and cooperation with highly specialized research units guarantee consistent, top-quality products. The company is constantly researching new solutions that not only respond to changing realities, but also stay ahead of investors' needs and designers' ideas.

ZIDA also offers complete solutions for drainage and retention systems. It offers a wide range of materials with high strength parameters and thoughtful design. ZIDA's innovative drainage and retention materials make possible realizations that were previously quite challenging.
Zida WaterBox - examples of application

Zida WaterBox - a retention box that allows rainwater to be stored on the roof surface under a layer of greenery with the option of later recovery. 100% of the material used in production is recycled.
Zida Board - cross-section through a green roof

ZidaBoard - a textile retention and drainage mat completely resistant to damage by compression, while providing twice the water retention of a classic bucket film of the same thickness. 100% made of recycled materials.
ZidaDren - a wide line of specialized bucket films made of modified HDPE - a material with high resistance to mechanical damage and with the property of returning to its original shape after deformation. The films are made from recycled raw materials. Some of them are available integrated with a non-woven filter fabric.
ZidaTex F100 - a non-woven filter fabric, which is characterized by extreme durability (more than 100 years in the ground), and thanks to the combination of appropriately matched stretch and absorbency, it allows for the effective absorption of water from the buckets into the substrate.
ZidaTex P300, P500 - nonwoven polyester separation fabrics that provide a basic level of puncture protection for waterproofing. Made from 100% recycled materials.
ZidaTex P350HD, P500HDK - protective nonwoven fabrics of extreme strength. Used in areas most prone to insulation damage, such as tree plantings or traffic routes. Their durability in the ground, is a minimum of 100 years.
ZidaTex D100 - an innovative waterproof diffusion membrane for the construction of green roofs in an inverted insulation layer system. It provides optimal conditions in the insulation layer.

For 2023, ZIDA is introducing specialized substrates for tree planting in road lanes.
They are characterized by significant resistance to compaction due to vibrations transmitted from the roadway, which translates into improved conditions for root development and reduced risk of tree death due to "suffocation" of the root ball by the vibrated substrate.
