The devil is in the details
For several years there has been a visible trend in designing office and public spaces in the likeness of cozy home and loft interiors. What kind of furniture to offer then: contract or domestic? The former scare us with the price, but protect us with a long warranty, while the latter tempt us with a bargain. When you don't know what's at stake, is it only about money or is the proverbial devil in the details?
To answer directly it is, of course, that "devil" is in the details. Contract furniture is much more expensive than furniture proposed for home use, for the reason that it is more frequently used and more durable. That is, if we want our space to be presentable for years to come, the answer is simple - for office spaces, and especially public spaces, we suggest only furniture from the contract offer, without any ALE.
When selecting furniture, we must take into account a great many factors that will be variable depending on the client: after all, something different will be important to an architect looking for an interesting effect, functionality, finishing detail and safety, and something different to an investor looking for the best value for money. Educating the investor can sometimes be difficult, but nothing is impossible for us.
The wide market offer of home furniture, its high availability and low prices are the main determinants in the selection of furniture. However, these determinants do not work in the case of contract furniture. And why?
DURABILITY
All elements of contract furniture are made of more durable materials (plywood, foam, solid wood, particle board, steel, fabrics), even if they appear to be the same as in home furniture their processing and origin are different. The construction of contract furniture is more refined going through a series of additional tests, certification for increased abrasion and stain resistance requirements (in the case of fabrics) or for resilience (in the case of foam).
COMFORT
Contract furniture designs are prepared by well-known and experienced design studios, which is of considerable importance for the already mentioned durability, but also for comfort. Dedicated foams with higher physical parameters are used in contract furniture. In some models of reputable factories, even dozens of different foams glued together are used in order to achieve the expected and at the same time unparalleled elsewhere comfort of a particular piece of furniture! The design of a well-known architect combined with an experienced factory results in extraordinary comfort. Great care in the preparation of the furniture means that from the idea to the realization of a new contract model often passes several years of trials and tests.
SECURITY
Fabrics proposed for contract furniture must meet fire safety requirements, but it doesn't stop there, as often the construction of the contract furniture itself is also certified for flame retardancy. Requirements in different countries are different, but one thing we can be sure of is that the contract furniture must meet those that guarantee safety in our country.
DESIGN
Architectural studios working on the visual concept of a new space want it to be unconventional and make the right impression on both visitors and the investor. This is another reason to reach out to the collections of contract firms looking for uniqueness of design. These companies recruit interesting designers to stand out in the market with their offerings. Design is not only the body of the furniture itself, but also the fabric pattern. A piece of furniture surprises us with the end result only when combined with the right fabric specially designed by the creator of a particular model.
PRESTIGE
A good, durable, comfortable piece of furniture, which still looks the same after years, and sometimes , can add prestige to both the space, the company and the investor himself, not to mention the pleasure of its use.
We warmly invite architects designing an office or public interior to contact us, and we will be happy to help you in your search for furniture inspiration for the contract market.
