Sou Fujimoto

Sou Fujimoto is a Japanese architect who founded his design firm, Sou Fujimoto Architects, in 2000. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Tokyo. The office is currently based in Tokyo and Paris.

Among his most recent well-known projects is Folie Richter's winning concept for Montpellier City Council in 2013, L'Arbre Blanc. He won numerous international awards in 2015, 2017 and 2018.

In Japan, in 2019, he was named chief architect for the development of the Tsuda University campus plan in Kodaira, and in 2020 he was appointed producer of the exhibition venue design for Expo 2025 in Osaka/Kansai.

In 2021, he won an award for his design proposal for the Sea Access Terminal at Oita Airport. His best-known projects include "Serpentine Gallery Pavilion 2013" (2013), "House NA" (2011), "Musashino Fine Arts University Museum and Library" (2010) and "House N" (2008).
