Amberwood decor
This decor is a kind of tribute and reference to the historical site of Granary Island in Gdansk. It was created using material from the foundation piles of former granaries, recovered from the demolition of old buildings in 2013-2015. The recovered material was used several hundred years ago - between the 13th and 16th centuries - to create piles submerged in water, on which the entire weight of the port and industrial infrastructure was based.
In addition to the heavy load, the structure was exposed to highly variable weather conditions and was submerged in water for years. Time and specific conditions caused irreversible changes in the wood: the dense grain of the wood took on an almost unique color. In the process of developing the decor, Schattdecor collaborated with the Polish company Divadlo.
Amberwood will blend in perfectly with Scandinavian or Japanese-style interiors. When used on large surfaces, the decor is not overwhelming, so it will work well on the fronts of large cabinets, as well as on other built-in furniture. It will find its way perfectly into most contemporary interiors thanks to a wide range of neutral shades of beige and gray.
Awarded with the Top Design 2020 award, Amberwood is an extremely versatile decor, which can be confidently combined with both neutral shades of beige, gray and black, as well as intense color accents.
The exclusive distributor of the Amberwood decor board is Korner, part of Schattdecor.
