What does the Pantone Intitute do?
The Pantone Color Institute is Pantone's research unit, which specializes in analyzing and forecasting color trends. The institute supports creative industries by offering consultation on color strategies and palette selection to help brands express their visual identity. However, the Pantone Institute is best known for announcing the color of the year. The color of the year was first chosen in 1999. It symbolizes global trends and cultural sentiments. The shade is chosen by experts based on an analysis of influences from various fields, such as fashion, art, design, technology and social events. The color of the year not only inspires the creative industry, but also highlights the role of color in expressing emotions and shaping our environment.
